I have tried every source I can find and have come up empty-handed! I cannot get a CLUE as to origins of my Joseph Gold, reported on MO census to have been born in Md. in circa 1818, or parents also born in Md. He does NOT seem to have been related to the Golds there around the time of the Rev War, though he SHOULD have been. I have found references to at least one Joseph Gold who was living in sailors' boarding housing in Baltimore at the end of the 1700's. Could your Golds have immigrated as merchant sailors at about that time??
