Colleen, do you really think that the other Georgina Gold is the daughter of James and Janet? I really don't know because I had read the letter from Linwood Jim on this forum which is where I got all the certificate details of the family and he thought that the other Georgina was the daughter of Hugh Gold and Mary McCallum (Hugh being the brother of WSF Gold) but he had no details of a birth record of Georgina. In fact I cannot find any record of children to Hugh and Mary who married in Bothwell in 1896.
From the Lanarkshire List some time ago I found the record of marriage of Janet Frame and James Gold and I have notes that she was 23 living at 23 Union St, Hamilton and that he was 22 living at Hurlford, Riccarton (Ayrshire) and he was a coal miner. Does this agree with what you have on them? Janet's mother Janet King died somewhere between 1841 and 1851 census and (William Smellie) or Smallie Frame as her father was always called remarried to Ann or Agnes Weir. Ann Weir raised the children but they had no children themselves.
They lived in Union St, Hamilton alongside other Frame families. Smallie Frame died on 17.03.1860 (apoplexy) Ex.89 Hamilton Dist and he was 57 yrs old on his DC. His parents were William Smellie Frame and Janet Smellie on the Cert. Information was given by youngest son John Frame (my gg grandfather) He is buried in Parish Church Yard, Hamilton. On the marriage record of W.S. Frame and Janet King 5.10.1834 he was from Hamilton parish and she was of Dalziel parish. We have not been able to get back any further although my brother started the search in mid 1970's. Have not found a marriage for W.S.Frame and Janet Smellie or birth of Smallie Frame. Smallie Frame on census records was Smellie Frame in all parish reg. records and had married twice before he married Janet King. (First to Jean McClintock and had daughter Margaret, then to Mary Rankin). Smallie Frame (my ggg grandfather) was a stone mason and also a publican. Heather
