My great-grandmother, Cynthia Narcissus Gold Covington, married Wayne Everette Covington. My grandmother, their daughter, Floma Ree Covington Mashburn, told me that her great-grandparents were named "panel" which I guess could be Pannell. They were Spanish, she explained, which was why her mother had ear-bobs. They lived at Double Springs in Cleveland Co NC, near Shelby NC.
