Lanny: I am a descendent of Golden's of Allegany Cty Md. and in fact still live in Allegany Cty. Your Samuel is not in our direct line, however I can tell you somethings that may help. Our group and possibly your group of Golden's started in Hancock, Md. (Wash. Cty) with the arrival of John Golden from Ireland. He had two children that we know of, and probably more. The two were Samuel Golden (b.1828-1830) and John Golden. We don't know too much about John Golden. I am a descendent of Samuel Golden. Samuel Golden Married Amanda McGinness and had 7 children none of whom was your Adam Frederick Golden. My thought is that if your family came through Allegany Cty, Md., you may be a descendent of the original John from Ireland or his son John or another sibling that we haven't unearthed yet. There are Golden's on every street and country road in the Hancock, Md.area, so we think that the original John had a bunch of children and descendants tht are too numerous for us to account for.
