Is there a Doctor Golding/Golden/Goldin in the house?

Anyone ever hear of a Dr. Goldin who is supposed to be the father of Amanda Goldin B. 1841 who's mother is Nancy Drawhorn? My mother who did a lot of research in the 70's and 80's and 90's, said she got this from a Dolly Price from the old family Bible. Of course I can't locate this person now. She said Amanda's father was a doctor. Nancy later marries a James Robert Taylor. Maybe "Doctor Goldin or Golden" was in the Civil War and doctored the soldiers. Anyone with information on the soldiers in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee.
Any input on this would be appreciated.
Just another mystery!! :)
Sherry
