John E. "Jack" Golden, 88, of Glenview, passed away peacefully on Sept. 27 at home. Jack is survived by his sweetheart of 64 years, Betty O'Connor Golden; loving father of Bill, Jack (Sharon), Jim (Becky), Kay (Tom Hart), Betty Pat McCoy (Dick), Peggy Nolan (Rich); best grandfather "Pop Pop" of John and Elizabeth Golden, Rachel and Alex Fleming, Maddy, the late Quinn, and Morgan Golden, Tommy, Danny, Conor, and Nolan Hart, Katie, Ryan, and Maggie McCoy, Jack, Emmett, and Will Nolan; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law of Thelma Golden. Preceded in death by his parents, Peter Golden and Katherine Moran Golden; brothers Peter (Myrtle), William (Norine), Martin, and Robert (Patricia); sister-in-law Sister Mary Lucilda O'Connor, BVM; brother-in-law William O'Connor. World War II veteran, Bronze Star recipient, 99th Infantry Division, Battle of the Bulge and Remagen Bridge. Retiree of Peoples Energy. Volunteer at Misericordia. Visitation Friday, Sept 30, 2011 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 8025 W. Golf Rd., Niles. Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home followed by procession to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 1775 Grove St., Glenview, Mass 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
