Good luck with this guy. There are several very good researchers that have been stuck on him for many years. It looks like the father was also NG Golden.

There is an 1822 Pendleton District road petition that names Green Golden. His apparent wife, Rachel was buying land in her own name in 1826 and head of household in 1830, perhaps indicating that NG Sr is dead.

He seems to surface again on 1839 & 1840 Pickens District deeds, the latter signed by wife, Isabella. Rachel Isabella? Perhaps, but some think this 1840 sighting is NG Jr with a previously unknown wife.

NG Jr is known to have married twice, Arzella, perhaps Moore and Elizabeth Jane Sosebee. He is in 1850 Pickens Co is apparent mother, Rachel, age 74 as next neighbor. Living with her is an apparent grandchild, Rachel Isabella, age 9.

Confused? I am.
