The story of Goldfuss as Was told by my great-grandfather to my mother, almost a hundred years ago, when she was a teenager. It had been passed on to him by his father and grandfather. It begins in a castle on the river Donau in what is now Austria. The time frame is the 1600's. The master of the castle was a Feudel Lord. In one of his many battles against aggressors he had lost his foot by the sword. Having great wealth and power, he had a foot of pure gold made and attached to his leg. He became known as the Lord of the Golden Foot, "Ritter von Goldfuss" in German. His Coat of Arms displays the Eagle, 3 towers and oak leaves in the eagles talons to show dominance over the castle and the flora. This also was passed on to her. By the way, Marie was born l/6/1866, died 1/7/1933
