Aplogies for this tardy response.
My Alexander (senior) was born/christened? on 6th May 1786 at Forres, Morayshire.
The other? Alexander who came out to NZ on assisted passage, on the Gypsey which left London on 4/7/1854, was born in 1779 in Scotland, and died in Auckland New Zealand on 13 March 1867.
The details about the Gypsey Alexander are very sketchy, when he came to Aucckland he definetly was in the same area as the son and daughters of My Alexander who had come out to Auckland some years earlier. He didn't appear to be taken into the family fold as it was, and he certainly led an independent life through to his death and the extended family played no part in this.
