My great great grandfather was Kenneth Gollan, a brother of Donald Gollan. These two brothers were engineers who imigrated from Linlithgow, Scotland in the 19th Century to Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. The Spencer Herbert Gollan mentioned, was descended from Donald Gollan. I am sure he was his son. We have a photograph in our office on the family farm in New Zealand of a horse that he sold to King Edward VII. The horses name was Morfia(?). According to oral history the ship sank off the coast of England and the horse swam to shore. (I stand to be corrected). My great-grandmother was Mary Jane Gollan who married Harold Henry Harris. Any information regarding the Gollans of Linlithgow would be greatly appreciated.
