Bob, re-reading your message, I was wondering whether you have progressed in going further back in time, pre 1800? My lineage comes from Inverness/Dores/Boleskine as is yours and I'm trying to establish links. I'm researching ancestors of William Gollan, b.1772 Inverness/shire who married Mary McDonald in 1797. His parents were Alexander (born 1742 or 1745) and Margaret Paterson from Inverness or Inverness-shire.
Is there also an identified link with Donald (b.1775 Dores to Alexander and Mary McIntosh) who married Isobel McBean?
