Hi I am trying to find out more about John Gollan b. Dores 1770. He joined the Militia and army around about 23 yrs old in 1793. He was discharged aged 44 in 1814. He had lost and eye on duty in Ireland and the other was impaired.

I do not know who his parents were. There is only one baptism that fit's him well in 1769, Parents: Donald Gollan & Marjory McBean. But I can't be sure it's his. He married an Elizabeth Fraser date unknown. They had atleast one child Elizabeth Gollan b. abt 1820 place uknown. She married John Fraser and they had atleast one child (more than likely more) another Elizabeth abt 1852 Inverness.

Does any one have a John Gollan b. 1770 ish Dores in there trees? Esp the one above b. 1769 to Donald Golland and Majory McBean. I would love to know if this is my grt grt grt grt Grandfather or not.

Much Thanks
Morag Cameron
