Yes. I recently found out that my grandfather, Nello, went by several names. Leonello Di Gonnella, Leonello J. Gonnella, Nello J. Gonnella, Neil J. Gonnella, Neil J. Gonnell, etc. (J. was always Joseph) He was very secretive about his life in Italy. From his military records, I have that he was from Barga, however, my father witnessed Nello burning his birth-date out with a cigarette. There was some 'big' secret regarding him, to which he disclosed to my grandmother who took it to her grave, except for that the fact that we children WERE NEVER to reveal that his true name was Gonnella (?) let alone change our name back to Gonnella from Gonnell. He sang opera quite well. To the point that my father felt that he had some formal training, however, never spoke of opera education. (He was on an album with Caruso) He died in 1952, estimated age at death 65. What are the names of the other siblings of Amerigo? Did someone live in Amsterdam? (Grandfather's papers had several letters from Amsterdam) Ireland? or Australia? Thanks for the connection. Becki G. King
