Wendy:
I may have some information on the Gonsalus (Gunsalus) (Gunsales)line.I have about four files over an inch thick on the Gonsalus family history dating back to Manual supposedly the first white settler on the west bank of the Hudson.Further, I have documentation that this Gunsalus home housed the New York State papers when the British armies were coming up the Hudson during the Revolution.
My grandmother was a Gunsalus and I remember my Uncles teasing her a great deal about being related to the "horse thief" Sam Gunsalus. She really got upset over this. Our family relates that Sam stole horses from the indians and that is why he jumped off of Sam's Point.
I think I am missing one generation of Gunsalus family lines that would take me back to the original Manual Gonsalus. So let me review my information and maybe you can email me and tell me exactly what you need.
Finally I have an document entitled "Emanuel Gonsalus-Duk and his Decendants"compiled by Ann Stofer Johnson who was and may still be in Baldwin, Kansas. You might be interested in this information as well.
I live in Lindon, Utah and I have access to the best geneological library in the world in Salt Lake City.So maybe we can get you some information.
