For those of you who are researching Manuel Gunsaulis, Jr. of Sullivan County, New York, I visited the other week the small cemetery and gravesite at the regional Wurtsboro Airport.I had viewed posted online photos of the original grave stone market and the one created by the Historical Society which was to replace the original stone. It is very clear when physically viewing the stone that the date of death has been incorrectly stated. The death year is clearly 1752.The slate stone is remarkably well preserved and easy to read. There are a other graves from the late 18th century.
My family descends in the line from Manuel Gunsaulis's son, Manuel III through his daughter, Eleanor "Lena" Gunsaulis Wolfe.(Died 1830 in Richland County, OH, buried Mansfield Cemetery). She came as a widow from Luzerne Cnty PA with six children and friends, but many of her Gunsaulis cousins resided in the same and nearby counties of OH.
