Origins of the name Goodall
I am curious to establish the origins of the name Goodall. My ancestors came from Ireland. The name Goodall is commonly regarded as deriving from "brewer of good ale", a noble origin, of course. However with the anglicisation of Gaelic names in Ireland, is it not possible, as has been suggested to me that Goodall is an anglicisation of Goidel, the gaelic tribe that moved back and forth across from Ireland to what is now the midlands of England and also Wales.Curious for a view on this
cheers
