Goodchilds in County Cork, Ireland
My Goodchild family lived in County Cork, Ireland, probably from early 1600's.The Goodchild name appears on two lists of the first English settlers (they were Puritans) of Bandon, Co. Cork in 1600 and 1620.
In 1795 and 1824 I found my Goodchild family living in Clonakilty, a coastal town not far from Bandon. My part of the family moved to Dunmanway (farther west in Co. Cork) in early 1800's and from there to New York City in the 1830's.
NAMES:Great-grandparents Richard W. Goodchild and Eliza Jane Clerke Goodchild.
Second Greats:Edward Goodchild and (probably) Mary Wagner Goodchild of Dunmanway.William Clerke and Mary Hales Clerke of Bandon and New York City.
Interested in communicating with anyone with an interest in or connection to this family.
