i am really glad to hear from you but, sorry, i cannot help you here.

although i have been at this a very long time, i am still learning things myself.

also, my focus has been primarily on the laurens co, sc records and back to southside va, etc, from there rather than the edgefield co, sc records.

i have only recently learned, for example, that this was reeves martin's sister, and also daughter of our william martin/ frances goode edwards, urusula martin who married james bullock, son of john bullock/ mary mitchell-------

who was the brother of my nathaniel bullock/ mary hawkins, whose daughter fanny bullock married my george allen, who died in 1806 in oglethorpe co, ga and who were parents of my henry allen/ elizabeth colbert, whose son stephen allen/ lucinda colbert were the parents of my great-grandmother, amanda allen who married my grandfather, martin alonzo harris in 1874 in paulding co, ga.

the more i learn the more involved this all seems to become.

in fact, until i went back and checked other info, i did not remember that reeves martin had married 1st sarah goode, daughter of our samuel goode/ jemimah davenport.

do you know where samuel goode, son of our mackerness goode, sr, died?

also, is this your burns family per the following edgefield co, sc deed i found on line and do you know more about your burns family?

this is from Edgefield Co, SC Deed Books 43 and 43 by Carol Wells:

page 406: David R. Burns and George H. Burns to B. S. Bullock. David R. Burns and George H. Burns of Union District, SC for $900 paid in hand by B.S. Bullock of Edgefield Co, SC, sold 110 and 3/4 acres on waters of 96th creek adjacent land of Reeves Martin, David Cunningham, Lucy Bullock.
Signed: David R. Burns; G. H. Burns. Witnesses: James Bullock; D. E. Davenport; B. F.

Plat request of George Burns for 110 and 3/4 acres, being part of land grant to George Burns, containing 350 acres, certified March 1789. David Cunnningham, District Surveyor.

i would be glad to hear more from you both on this forum and per my email which is current.
