I have a Capt John Chesterfield Goode who was born 26 May 1775 in Mecklenburg Co and died 2 Sep 1837 at Inglewood, Mecklenburg Co. John was a descendant of John Goode of Whitby. He was a Capt during the war of 1812 and was a grad of W&M College. He was a renounded horse owner and served as member of the House of Delegates from 1810 to 1813. Much more info on this family is contained in Vol 2 our books on the VA Goodes.
