Goodharts of New Haven

Seeking more info on the Goodharts of New Haven, Connecticut. They were prominent [Dutch] Jews in New Haven in the late 1800s into the 1900s. Jacob Goodhart and Rachel ______ were born in Holland, and immigrated to Hartford around 1843, and then New Haven in the 1860s. They had a number of children, including Phillip, who became a deputy sheriff in New Haven, and Morris, who became a prominent New York lawyer.

Phillip had two sons, Jacob, who became a well known New Haven lawyer, and Simon, a New York doctor.

My Stodel line - cousins to my DeKortes - were in New Haven [Andrew J. Stodel of New Haven is my paternal grandmother's cousin], and in a number of newspaper articles on the Stodels I found, the various Goodharts were also mentioned. My great grandmother was Eva Goedhart - spelled Goedhart in the Dutch databases and Goodhart in the American ones.

Any info? Bob Coleman [DeKorte]
