george jervis goodhue, 1799-1870, London
I am the great-great grandson of George Jervis Goodhue (Aug 1, 1799 (Putney, Vt)-Jan. 11, 1870) son of Josiah and Rachel (n. Burr).George Jervis lived in London, Canada (my hometown), and is written up in the Dictionary of Canadian Biography. My family never paid much attention to this "foreigner", but since my immigration to the US, I have become more interested in his American background. His is an interesting story of fortunes made, wills written and broken, fortunes squandered, bankrupcy, fraud and foreign exile. I wonder whether I could impose on someone with a copy of J.E. Goodhue's book to fill me in on the genealogy, i.e., how to get from William and Margery to George Jervis. The dictionary cites pp. 40-41, 71-73, 144-45 of "History and Genealogy..." for information on GJH.Thanks in advance
