A Question For Lavoie, Smith & Wilson
Gentlemen:
I have a question for you about your inquiries on your Goodhue ancestry that you each submiited separately to me. I received all three of your inquiries almost within a week of one another. Mr. Janick Lavoie inquired about Josiah C. Goodhue and Mr. Walt Smith inquired about his Great-Great-Great or Great-Great Grandfather Charles Frederick Henry Goodhue while Malcolm Wilson inquired about his Great-Great Grandfather George Jervis Goodhue. What I have learned in my research is that all three Goodhues whom you each inquired about separately, were brothers from the same family.
These inquiries seem to me to be just a little too coincidental for my Yankee intuition. I am wondering if perhaps, just perhaps, I may have become the subject of a little genealogical prank & humor. I am not offended and I enjoy a little humor myself from time to time. However, I would now like to clear up this little mystery for once and for all time. How was it planned?
On the other hand, if your inquiries were genuinely intended and not preplanned, then I think that you might wish to contact one another because you may share a relatively close Goodhue ancestry with one another. For me there is a real irony and coincidence in the timing that each of you chose to make your inquiries.
Just a reminder to all three of you. The answers to your inquiries are contained in Message No. 126 that I posted on this Goodhue Genealogy message board on March 14, 2001.
Good luck and best wishes to you all in your genealogy research.
Chuck.
