Asa/Harlan Goodin Licking Co. Ohio 1881 to present
I have a deed that lists the owners of my property in Licking County back to 1881. Asa Goodin bought a 20.91 acre tract of land from the Sheriff that had been United States Military land. In 1892 Sarah E. Goodin, widow of Asa transfered this land to Harlan H. and Mahala E. Goodin. The deed also listed the sale from Harlan and Mahala Goodin to Timothy Donovan stating they retained the right to plant and harvest a wheat crop the year following that sale in 1894.
Would love any info on the families of Asa and Sarah or Harlan and Mahala. Interested to see if the land we now live on was my husband's family's land. The land is located on what is now St. Rt. 79 Heath, laying between the old Ohio Canal and the south fork of the Licking River.
