Texas Goodrums

I was perusing the 1880 Waller County, TX Census records and came across the following Goodrum family living in the same enumeration district as my Goodrums who were all originally from Mississippi and South Carolina. I wonder if anyone can shed any light on who this J.J. born in Kentucky might be? Here's a transcription of the census record for this family:
1880 Waller County, TX -- p. 15, SD 4, ED 159, taken on June 9 & 10, 1880
123/128 Goodrum,J J,W,M,54,farmer,Kentucky,SC,SC
M A,W,F,52,wife,keeping house,Geo,Geo,Geo
B S,W,M,21,son,works on farm
P A,W,F,18,daughter
Francis,W,F,16,daughter,attended school
J F,W,M,11,son,works on farm,attendedschool
H L,W,F,11,daughter,attended school
All of the children were listed as born in Texas, Father in Kentucky, and mother in Georgia.
