William's father was John Ingram Goodrum, b. 7-3-1816 in KY, d.12-22-1882 in Warren Co., KY and buried on the old Sam Duncan farm near Gold City on the Simpson/ Warren Co. line. He married Queen Hellna Herrington, b. 1-24-1824, d. 4-24-1860 in Warren Co. on 4-26-1841 in Warren Co. KY.

They had Nancy E. b.1843; John Eugene b.1845; Wm. J. b.1846; Asbery W. b.1848; Henry A. b.1850; R. Green b. 1858; James Willis b. 1862.
