My own family lived in Mississippi in mid 1980's. John greer Goodrum, my great grandfather, lived in Claiborne County,MS. My grandfather, John Cornelius Goodrum also lived there in a town named Grand Gulf, then later moved to Ingleside, a few miles north. He and his family moved to southern California in the early 1920's.

The name Reiben Goodrum rings a bell. There was a Reuben Goodrum living (and now buried) near Vicksburg.

None of our family, to my knowledge, moved to Texas; however, it is possible that some did, as my records concerning my great grandfather and his family are not complete.

If anyne has further information, I'd be happy to do more research.
