Jan,
The Boyd Family Sketch is a twelve-page document handwritten by Bessie M. Meabon in 1910.Because a couple of Boyds married a couple of Goodwills, she includes Goodwill information. She includes a mention of Lydia under "Children of Cyrus and Phoebe Waid Goodwill":Lydia G., born Dec. 4, 1829 Died Apr. 5, 1909, married Thompson Burns.
On another page, she lists:
"Lydia Goodwill and Thompson Burns 10 children (rest died in infancy)" and proceeds to list the children. It's a little disjointed, as if she were writing things as she thought of them.
Francis C. Waid's Third Souvenir (1892) quote:"...Mrs. Ellis asked me if I had been in Jamestown, NY, lately, and, if so, had I seen Thompson and Lydia Burns while there?"I would take that to mean they lived in Jamestown in 1892.The Fenton Historical Center, 67 Washington St., Jamestown, NY14701 may do a city directory search if you ask. They also have old newspaper file cards for births, deaths, etc.
Good luck!
