ALLEN GOOLSBY, Pvt.Captain Thomas J. Echols Co. Provost Guard of Atlanta, Georgia (also known as Co.B 25th Ga Battaion).Enlisted Aug 4, 1862 for the duration and discharged Oct 10, 1862.Discharge paper describes him as 57 yrs old, 6" tall, dark complexion, gray eyes, gray hair, and a farmer.The Atanta(?) Provost Guard was disbanded June 24, 1864 which directed at all men liable to conscription be turned over to the nearest enrolling officer and those enrolled to serve in the reserve force commanded by Major General Howell Cobb. [Roll 369].
