Re: John Goolsby from England in the 1600's -- Our name goes back that far?! Does anyone have a *GOOD* link(s) to pages about our name, where it comes from, etc? I have heard everything from English, highland Scots (from "Godsby", which is Norse), Irish (a variation of Gillespie) and everything inbetween and am trying to find concrete info.

I am just starting to try and do family research, and am having a hard time getting info from family. My dad Jim was one of 9 (?) kids born in Mississippi and lived for years in Memphis. I know his mum's name was Nettie Bramlett, but that's all so far (will be getting more info this week)... Anyone with insight/tips/help, please email me. Thanks!!
