No those towns, Mexia and Teague, are nowhere near to Balch Spings and Mesquite. They are in Limestone County about eighty miles south of the Dallas area. I lived in Dallas for a number of years and visited Balch Springs many times. I assure you they are not close at all. Here's a map,

Seems like a lot of posts I have read here point to Texas. Once we have the info on who my great grandparents were, it may fill in a missing space for a lot of people regarding the Goolsbys in Texas. Of course, I don't know when we will be able to get that information, so be patient.
