Thanks for the response. I am basically a Thurman researcher and have come across the Goolsby name alot while doing so. The Albemarle Goolsbys migrated with some of the Albemarle Thurmans to South CArolina, GA and TN after the Rev War. I did not know that the Goolsbys were affiliated with the Jeffersons.

Are you familiar with this couple? John Thurmond b VA 1758-d 1824? Sumner Co TN served as a pvt in 5th and 9th VA Regs m 1770 SARAH GOOLSBY in Albemarle VA had 5 children. I'm wondering if there is any connection with Robert Goolsby of Smyth Co VA and this Sarah Goolsby or any of the other Goolsbys in Albemarle?
