William Goolsby/Gwinnett Co., GA/1850

I am not a Goolsby descendant, but maybe this might help someone's research.

In the 1850 census of Gwinnett Co., GA, there was one Goolsby family. Here is the record:

GOOLSBY William 80 m VA carpenter/farmer
Meneter 50 f GA
Deborah 20 f GA
Lucy 16 f GA
Cornelia 12 f GA
Sarah Ann 12 f GA
John C. 6 m GA

The family appears as dwelling #966 on p. 132, in the 36th Subdivision of the Sugar Hill District, enumerated 25 Sept 1850. It may be that descendants do not realize that this Goolsby family lived in Gwinnett Co. because there are no Goolsbys at all in the 1840, 1860 or 1870 censuses of the county. The family seems somewhat unusual in that William is 80, but that's what the transcription reads.
