Virginia I have to disagree with you here .
The John Goolsby she is referring to is the son of John T. Goolsby Sr . I say Senior only because I have seen his son John called Junior ( Jr ) up on his fathers death on 14 Jan. 1808 in Ogelthrope County GA . In the will of John T. Goolsby Sr. dated 2nd Nov. 1805 he names his sons as follows William Goolsby , John Goolsby ( jr ) Samuel Goolsby . The will was recorded on the 14 Jan 1808 in Ogelthrope County GA .
The John Goolsby , Karen was referring to is the son of John T.Goolsby Sr. he fought in the 9th VA Reg . Foot .
I have his muster rolls and his application for bounty land
of a Rev. War Vet . He was taken prisoner in the battle of German Town . He widow applied for and received bounty land after his death 05 July 1825 in Jasper County GA .
His will names the following sons . John T. Goolsby II
William Goolsby ( yes another William ) Thomas Goolsby
Reuben Goolsby, ( My line from John T. SR) Pleasant Goolsby
Joshua Goolsby . His wife was Catherine ( Catey ) Pleasant.
Hope this helps out a little . Also I think you find that
John T. Goolsby ( Sr. ) was the son of Thomas Goolsby II
and Tabitha Turrentine .
