I was interested in your message, Chuck. I have traced the family of my mother, whose maiden name was Gooseman, back to 1557 in North Lincolnshire, UK. Gooseman is not a common name in the UK. Consquently, it has been relatively easy to research my family - especially as, over the years, they did not move around the country.

I may be able to help you further - but it all depends if your ancestors came from the UK - if they did, there is a good chance I could have useful information.

Goos(e)man is also a name which comes from countries such as Germany and the Netherlands, although the spelling may differ in those countries. I suspect some US Goosmans may have ancestors in these countries, as well as the UK.

So, if you think your family may have come from the UK ( and you know when that might have been), I may be able to assist.
