GORDON/GORDEN, JOHN M. Janesville WI &MO
Posted by: Richard L. Gordon Date: November 13, 2000 at 13:31:40

John M. (probably McElhaney) Gordon was my great grandfather. He was born in Ohio, lived in Janesville, WI (from which he enlisted in Captain Gilfair's Co. B, 20th Regiment of Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry on July 15, 1862, and was medically discharged February 24, 1863), and moved to north Missouri during the latter part of the Civil War, probably 1864. He and his wife Cynthia had two children, William, b. probably 1859 or 1860, and John Adrel, b. 10/20/1861. After Cynthia died 1/1/1874, John M. married Annie Jane (?), and they had 3 children, Rollie, Jessie and Maude. If you have any information about John McElhaney Gordon/Gorden's ancestors, I would appreciate learning of it. Please email me at dicklogo@home.com. Thanks. Dick Gordon
