I may have some information to add. I JUST received this Gordon book from Picton Press and FINALLY found my Charles H. Gordon b. 1830/31 in Augusta, Maine....his father was John Gordon and his grandfather Jesse Gordon. I had been looking very hard ( in Readfield and Mt. Vernon) and could not find him. YES, they go back to NH and connect with Alexander Gordon.
If I can help you with other family names ( brothers) please contact me.
