I am also interested in the Gorringes from Sussex, although have not got quite as far back as you and am in the Worth, East Grinstead area. However, there may be a link don't you think?
I have two families of Gorringe, which, at the moment are unrelated.
James Gorringe who marr. Amy Taylor in Worth on 2 Oct 1772 and William Gorringe who marr.Mary Charlwood in Merstham, Sy in 1795. (He may have been born in Hurstpierpoint s/o Richard & Margaret.
