Dear Sir David

Re your message

I feel that my two uncles and their three sons (and that's only my mother's brothers, not to mention their innumerable cousins, my grandfather being one of 12 GOSNOLD children!) would be upset to learn that you are the "last of the British Gosnolds". Does this mean they are not alive?

This issue set aside, I agree with you that it is a crying shame that Otley Hall is in the hands of aliens, and indeed my uncle (John Kenelm Gosnold) tried to raise family funds to purchase it when the property last came on the market. Immediate family not being particularly flush, and internet technology being in its infancy, we were unsuccessful. Is there hope in the future.

Would like to hear from you
