There are many interested persons around the world who involve themselves with ''The Gosnolds'' and their history. As a Gosnold I feel honoured to be in the heart of such a great family and would like to extend sincere greetings to all the other Gosnolds around the world and those interested historians and archivists who find us to be of such interest. It is now almost 400 years since Bartholemew sailed across the Atlantic in the Godspeed and set foot on American soil ............. methinks his first landing was on Cutty Hunk, one of the Elizabeth Isles, where a statue still remains in his honour at Gosnold Pond. Should we all rise up next year, in 2002, and celebrate the relationship between our forebears and the Indians of America. I think it would be a marvellous idea to all meet in Martha's Vineyard and contemplate what has happened in the last 400 years. It really cant have been all bad !! A Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to you all. May the prosperity be in Health and Happiness really wealth is not all that important, is it ! John Kenelm Gosnold Email: jgosnold@aol.com
