Hello Andrew
In your follow-up you mention Tendring Gosnold, my husband is descended from Ann Buttivant nee Gosnold who is the Granddaughter of a Tendring Gosnold.
You have a Tendring Gosnold as 'd. 1733 at Fort St George in the East Indies'
We have found in the fiche for St Peter Parmentergate Norwich the following:
Fiche 12
Buried 8th October 1726 Tendring Gosnold
Buried 23rd June 1727 Tendring Gosnold
When we originally started our Gosnold research I thought that there were two Tendring's, one the father and another the son. But later I thought this was incorrect but now I am not so sure again. What is your opinion of the two deaths in the microfiche, two brothers ? the second being named after the first one died ? I am just as confused as ever.
Looking forward to your thoughts.
thanks
Carol
