hi Sue and Wayne:
My mother (Blanche Gosson) has grandparents named James Gosson and Adelia Amirault. The plympton, Digby County census if 1901 shows James, 38, Adelia, wife,, 36, and children Mikel 15, Ernest (James) 13, Ida 19, John 8, Walter 6, Eugene 3, and Gifford 1 month.

The 1891 census shows James, 28, Adellia 27, Michael 6,
James 4, and Ida 1.

examining the 1881 census I beleive Adelia Amirault is the daughter of Jenkins Amirault. She appears to be the only Adelia Amirault of that period. Addie (Adelia) is 17 at the 1881 census, and is not on the 1891 census, (she obviously was married by then.) Interestingly enough, Adelia had an older sister Margaret, who no doubt is the margaret Amirault who married Charles Gosson, James' brother. They also had a brother Henry. Wayne told me that Henry's parents were John A. Gosson, and Seraphie Amirault. John's parents were Peter Gosson and Elizabeth.
I have been able to trace the Adelia Amirault line back to Francois Amirault and marie Pitre. But, I am stuck on the Gosson side. Sue and Wayne, I would love to hear from you both. It sounds like you and I are cousins. Please feel free to email me. Would love to chat further.
Carolyn
