You're in luck! I forwarded your post to my friend, Bea Gothberg. Margaret and her brother, Loren, are Bea's cousins. They all grew up together in Yakima. Margaret was, among other things, a school teacher and the librarian. Margaret died in 1996. Loren went to medical school and set up his private practice in Spokane, WA. Bea said that 4 Gothberg boys (Gottfrid, Nathanael, Axel, who was called by his middle name, "Fingal", and one other boy that I didn't catch the name of) and 1 girl (Hilma) who lived in Yakima. Another brother of Natanael lived somewhere in Calif. That brother was Elfton. The rest of the brothers and sisters remained in Sweden.

Bea remembers the Torell's. She thinks there were 4 kids in the family that lived next door to them. They had moved there from Omaha, she thinks. Marie Torell played the pump organ in their church. Bea remembers that she always wore a big straw hat with a brim. Marie opened her own secretarial school in downtown Yakima. That is where Bea earned her executive secretarial certification.

Bea is gathering up information about her uncles and the Torells and will send it to me ASAP. I would love to exchange information with you about this family.

Looking forward to researching with you,
Carolyn Menges
