The GOTOBED family had been in Cambridgeshire - my John MONK marred a Susan Gotobed in the early 1820's in Littleport.

History of Cambridgeshire, page 142, says the Landbeach manor house with 36 acres hade belkonged from the 1540's to 1592 to the Gotobeds.

Page 155 says of the Longbeach school that "John Gotobed, son of a prominent local yeoman, served as master from 1610 to c. 1635"

Page 188 says of Milton, Northstowe that "the curates included Henry Gotobed until 1579, of a local family".
