Madeline, I had some marriage lookups done in Wood co. & have the following: Caleb Barrett m Jemima Goucher 2-1823, Eli Mann m Sarah Gouger 2-1829, George Gouger m Saphronia Phelps 9-1839, and James Gouger m Mary Heaton 12-1844.
I have found a Dr. George W. Goucher in 1880 Yamhill, Or. who was born in WV in 1822. He had previously lived in California. In 1880 San Joaquin Ca. a James & Mary Goucher, both born Va, he in 1824. I think these may be from the Gouger family in Wood co. Thats what I'm working on any way. The Doctor was in the Mexican war & I'm working on getting his pension file.
