Mr. Peter GRAACK was born in Idestedt, Schleswig Holstein, Germany on June 8, 1854 & died at his home in Loup City, NE on Feb. 2, 1928, at the age of 73 years. He was a member of the Evan Church & was confirmed at the age of 15 & spend his early manhood in Germany. As was the rule in those days, he spent 3 years in training in the German Army. At the age of about 28 years, in 1882, he came to this country & since 1886 lived in Sherman County, NE. For many years he & his brother Hans, worked a farm near Schaupps. On June 7, 1901 he was joined in wedlock with Christine VIERCH. They continued to live on the farm until 1917, when they moved to Loup City where they continued to live until he was called away.
Deceased leaves to mourn his death his wife, one brother Hans who resides in IA & 10 neices & nephews.
The funeral services were held Sat. afternoon with Rev. RUHL officiating. Remains were laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery.
The attendance at the funeral was so large that less than 1/2 the people could gain admittance into the church. The death of Mr. GRAACK cast a gloom over everybody that knew him for he was a kindly gentleman for whom everybody had the highest respect. Always cheerful & never complaining, everybody that knew him was his friend.
