I'll tell you what i know. I found a record of a Kapplinger marrying a Grams in 1892 in Philadelphia, and I'm assuming this is the couple. They both came from Germany, and I believe, one of them came from the Bavarian Alps region. Augusta's mother's name was Victoria Grams, and her father was John Grams. Augusta and Frederick are buried at Greenmount Cemetery here in Philadelphia. The grave consists of Kate Keplinger d. May 1896, Frederick Kepplinger, d. 10/1918, Francis Hauser d. Aug. 1931, Richard Ade (my uncle) d. 9/1940 at 14 years of age., Augusta Victoria Kepplinger d. 11/1941, and Henry A. Kepplinger d. 8/1957. Augusta was born on 5/5/1869, and I have the year only of Frederick's birth 1869. I have a tattered old picture of Minnie and her older sister, Mary, when Mary was about 4 or 5 years old and Minnie, maybe around 2 years old. It's very old, I keep it in my Bible, but I've had it for years. I also have a picture of George Kepplinger, one of the brothers, and I think one of Francie, another sister. I have quite a few pictures of Minnie Kepplinger, my beloved grandmom. I remember seeing a picture of Augusta and Frederick, and I think it was at Barbara Kepplinger's house when I was a child. I have no idea where that picture is today. Are you in contact with any of the other Kepplinger clan, and if so, which ones.
Best wishes Sue Bryan
