It has been a while since I last posted. I have only found my father listed on 1920 Census and SSDI. But, I have found his Uncle Niels Pet(d)ersen family. I have located and spoken with his granddaughter and one of her children. It has been great making this connection but, as yet, no one ever heard of my father or uncle. In fact, this has been the only connection to Denmark on Niels' side of the family. His wife Kristine(a) Smith (not Von Schmidt) came to this country from Sweden.

I am posting this as an update and also to show some activity on this site.

As a child I thought anyone named Gram had to be related because there were so few of them in my town. Now it seems there are so many and none seem to connect to mine. It's very frustrating but, I'll keep looking. I keep thinking I have just not looked in the right place yet.

Anita
