I agree, that James G. Grammer is not the father of Andrew Jackson Grammer.

However, I do think James G. Grammer born ~1810 and Andrew Jackson Grammer could be brothers. I think their father could be the James Grammer born 1780-1790 (from the 1830 census). There are two James Grammers, which I think are probably father and son.

I was looking into Frances Marion Grammer a little since your message and I notice the family connection between the Gillentine - Rhyne - Grammer families. Digging a little more into the Gillentine family I came across the connection between the Ray and Gillentine families back in TN at the Big Fork Baptist Church (see the Gillentine message board post number 124 and http://www.danielhaston.com/overview/overview.htm ).

The Grammer family, at least on my tree, have connections with the Ray family also. The Ray family was also connected to the Foster, Grizzle/Grizzell, and Ballinger (various spellings) families. Then there is the name Snyder too. I keep seeing Swiss-German implications, but I don't know if there's any significance in that at this time.
