If anyone is interested in doing the DNA test, they are running a discount for the month of June.
What could the test do for you?
If you suspect your line and another family line are from the same ancestor, but can't find paperwork to prove the relationship, the dna test could prove (or disprove) you theory.
If you want to compare you results with that of the two participants results already on file, and see if your ancestor matches the line, then you could find this out too.
The two participants so far are from completely different lines and do not match. One participant is from Germany, so if you suspect your line is German comparing with this participant may be of interest to you. The most distant ancestor of the other participant was living in Alabama. If you want to find out how the Alabama lines relate, you will want to compare your Grammer dna with this line.
The comparison is done automatically in the surname project page. You'll also be able to compare with other surnames and if your a close match it will give you probability of when you have a common ancestor.
I have found the information from the test (done by my Dad) to be very fascinating and am sure you will too.
The participant needs to be a direct male descendant. Email me if you have any questions about dna testing or the Grammer Surname Project.
