Norma,

I am Vicki Grammer from MS, my husband Keith Grammer and I are trying to find out who his g-grandfather is.

You posted some info that may help us in your 12-30-09 post about William Henry Calvin Grammer.

You stated you called the funeral home in MS regarding Melissa Boyd-Alexander-Grammer ????? and had a death notice about her. I need to know which funeral home you called. this is why---

My husband's grandfather was James Riley Grammer b1880-1890 in MS. James Riley Grammer's mother was Melissa Alexander or Melissa Grammer. We don't know if Melissa was Andrew Jackson Grammer's daughter or Melissa Emeline James. It seems though, after seeing 1900/1910 census, Melissa was the neice of Francis Marion Grammer, living in his household with her children (this post was made by Susan Nass on Genforum 1-31-2011 under surname
"J" last name James (Melissa Emeline James married Francis Marion Grammer-MS).We never really knew much about James Riley's parents (we are compilin Family Tree-Maker), but was told by Keith's father that his grandmother's name was Melissa Boyd and grandfather was Frank, who we thought was Francis Marion Grammer. After the census records showed Melissa as Francis Marion's neice and her children as grand-neices and nephews, we beleived that you may be correct in that Melissa was Andrew Jackson Grammer's daughter.

So much for my rambling, if you would please send the info to me I would truely appreciate it. I know us Grammer's have some puzzles to put together.

Sincerely,

Vicki Grammer
Brandon,MS
